Kelly Clarkson fires back at Clive Davis

Clive Davis has just published a new memoir titled The Soundtrack of My Life, a portion of which discusses experiences he had with American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson.

Davis describes how he and Clarkson had a falling out over her desire to write more songs on her next album at the time, My December. Davis did not believe that Clarkson had written anything worthy of a No.1 hit and told her manager that he was "out of his mind" to think otherwise, reports Entertainment Weekly.

Davis also describes a meeting with Clarkson in which he told her that My December was "a pop album that still needs pop hits."

Upon hearing this, Clarkson fought back on her Who Say writing, "So I just heard Clive Davis is releasing a memoir and spreading false information about me and my music. I refuse to be bullied and I just have to clear up his memory lapses and misinformation for myself and for my fans."

She states later on, "But, yes, I did cry in his office once. I cried after I played him a song I had written about my life called 'Because Of You.' I cried because he hated it and told me verbatim that I was a 'sh*tty writer who should be grateful for the gifts that he bestows upon me.'"
