Kelly Clarkson talks wedding plans

Kelly Clarkson is engaged to her manager, Brandon Blackstock, and couldn’t be happier.

Clarkson said she never thought she’d get married, but she’s happy she fell in love. Blackstock was married when they first met seven years ago, but they reconnected at last year’s Super Bowl.

They’ve been together ever since. Clarkson said her relationship problems came from dating men with “skinny jeans” when she needed someone with “Wranglers,” according to ABC News.

Clarkson’s wedding will be “very earthy” and held at her Nashville home in the fall.

On February 1, she got a jumpstart on wedding planning with a trip to Vera Wang’s boutique in West Hollywood, People magazine reports.

In addition to a wedding dress, Clarkson picked up a number for this Sunday’s Grammy Awards. Clarkson said her wedding gown “is my personality in a dress.” “It’s sweetly damaged. A little rock and roll. A little tattered. Nothing like a princess thing!”

2013 is looking good for Clarkson. She sans “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” at President Barack Obama’s second inauguration in January and is nominated for three Grammys. In addition to finishing two albums, she’s preparing for a summer tour.
