Oscar-winning actor and director Kevin Costner will receive the Lifetime Achievement Honor at France’s Cesar Awards on February 22.

Kevin Costner is best known for his movies, including Dance with the Wolves, which won seven Oscars, JFK with Kevin Bacon and Tommy Lee Jones and The Bodyguard with Whitney Houston.

Academy of Arts and Techniques President Alain Terzian said that Costner’s movies “made us dream” and the award is for his “fabulous contribution to the history of cinema," reported Hollywood Reporter.

According to Variety, previous honorary recipients include Chint Eastwood in 1998, Dustin Hoffman in 2009 and Quentin Tarantino in 2011.

France’s Cesar Awards, which started in 1976, is the country's equivalent of the Oscars in France. The 38th ceremony will be hold in the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris.

Costner is currently shooting Three Days to Kill, written by Luc Besson and Adi Hasak and directed by McG. Costner stars as a dying Secret Service Agent who wants to reconnect with his estranged family, reported Variety.

Costner also appears in Man of Steel, as Superman’s adoptive father. Man of Steel will be in theater on June 14, 2013.
