Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries divorce gets court date

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Kim Kardashian may be getting exactly what she asked for as a judge has granted her a court date to alas resolve her long-looming divorce case from NBA star Kris Humphries.

Judge Stephanie Moloney has ordered the proceedings to move forward, giving the 72-day-married couple a May 6 court date, E! News reports. Kardashian and Humphries will endure five day trial in front of Judge Scott Gordon- who also oversaw the divorce of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline when they split in 2007.

Prior to their May appearance to finalize the cause of divorce; Humphries is seeking an annulment based on fraud while Kardashian is simply wishing for the divorce to be done and over with, the two will see each other April 12 for a mandatory settlement conference to sort out financial issues before going forward with the five day battle.

E! notes that witnesses for both parties are slated to appear in court during the trial.

As previously speculated, Humphries team attempted to further delay the trial due to his “busy athletic schedule” and his attorney Marshall Waller removed himself from Humphries team stating there is not sufficient evidence of fraud.
