Dwight Howard needs to nut up and shut up. Well at least Kobe Bryant thinks so.
The Los Angele's Lakers point-guard, 34, thinks that the center, Howard, needs to play through the aggravated torn labium in his shoulder which occurred earlier in the season reports ESPN.
The Lakers (23-26) are currently 10th in the Western Conference playoff race. In the three games Howard has missed the Lakers won all three games, but with an MRI showing a tear in the plantar fascia of forward Pau Gasol yesterday the urgency is now.
"We don't have time for (Howard's shoulder) to heal," Bryant said.
Bryant, who is nursing tendinitis in his shooting elbow, feels that Howard worries a lot of what people think and feel about him.
"Dwight worries too much about what people think," Bryant said. "I told him, 'You can't worry about that. It's holding you back.' He says, 'OK, OK, OK,' but it's always hovering around him.”
According to the NY Daily News Bryant and Howard had a heated discussion after a New years Day loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.
As of now, Howard is listed as day-to-day and his status is unknown for Thursday’s Boston Celtics game. The Lakers organization is hoping that the Gasol injury will give Howard the extra push to man up and play.
