A severely injured hip has forced Lady Gaga to cancel the rest of the Born This Way Ball tour.
Earlier this week, we reported that Lady Gaga regrettably postponed four tour dates in Chicago, Detroit, and Hamilton due to synovitis, severe joint inflammation.
While she had kept the injury hidden from her staff, the pain had become increasingly unbearable over the past month to the point where Gaga was no longer able to walk - let alone perform.
Although she hoped to recover after only a week to be able to continue the tour as scheduled, further medical examination proves that is definitely not going to happen, reports ABC News.
Mother Monster has a tear in her hip that will require surgery and a much longer recovery period.
“After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip,” Live Nation Global Touring, Gaga’s booking company, confirmed Wednesday in a press release. “She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This, unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour so she can heal.”
Refunds will be given starting on Thursday for the 21 cancelled shows.
