Music star Lady Gaga cancelled her scheduled shows for Wednesday and Thursday in Chicago due to an inability walk.
According to Gaga, she sustained an injury a while back, but continued to perform until a case of synovitis — severe joint inflammation — has necessitated a break, the Associated Press reported. Gaga kept her condition secret from everyone, even her staff, for the past month.
"I've been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the last month it has worsened," she tweeted. "I've been praying it would heal."
Gaga’s last show for the Born This Way Ball tour was performed in Montreal on Monday. She has already been to six continents with the tour, which was ranked as the sixth most successful tour of 2012 by Billboard, according to Reuters.
Due to her illness, Gaga has already cancelled shows in Detroit and Ontario, but hopes to heal soon and continue the tour, which shows dates continuing all the way through March. As of now, however, future dates for the postponed shows have yet to be announced.
