Rihanna and Chris Brown’s tumultuous relationship appears to be getting a spotlight on Law & Order: SVU.
According to E! News, the NBC series will feature an episode with guest appearances from Raul Esparza who works to defend “a promising singer” who is “brutally attacked by her boyfriend, a popular hip hop star.”
The description continues, “ADA Barba works to build a case, but the victim refuses to aid the prosecution and, despite Detective Benson's best efforts, continues to put herself in danger. The case quickly spirals into a media circus, perpetrated by both the defendant and his uncompromising attorney.”
The episode seems all too familiar, seemingly torn directly from the 2009 headlines when Brown brutally assaulted Rihanna just before the Grammys. Rihanna and Brown have since rekindled their relationship, despite a wide variety of backlash from the public.
Law & Order: SVU stars Mariska Hargitay, Christopher Meloni and Ice-T. The episode will air Wednesday, Feb. 27.
E! notes that NBC has not confirmed if the episode is based off their relationship or not, despite the obvious similarities.
