If Lena Dunham’s Girls has any guarantee, it is that the show’s creator is going to go nude at least once a week. Dunham says that fans shouldn’t expect that to stop.
“My point with getting naked is never proven,” the writer/actress explains in her interview with Entertainment Weekly, reports People. “It's not like, 'Oh, I did it first season and now you guys get that there's women of a certain size on TV, so I'm done!’”
According to Crushable, she notes that there will be at least one future episode where she won’t go nude. “You know I think there may actually be a few in season two where Hannah doesn’t get naked,” she told EW. “She does other humiliating things but the nudity is kind of isolated to a few particularly nude episodes.”
Dunham recently got into a feud with Howard Stern, who called her a “little fat chick” during his show, but he later backed away. Later, she called into the show herself to tell Stern, “I'm not that fat, Howard. I’m not super-thin, but I'm thin for, like, Detroit.”
“I'm in love with you and your character,” Stern replied, adding that he thinks she’s “terrific.”
But not everyone has agreed with Stern. In her EW interview, Dunham also addresses some of the critics who have commented on the show’s lack of non-white characters. This season, she added Donald Glover to the cast to play her boyfriend.
Girls has already earned a third season and Dunham recently began developing a project on Betty Halbreich for HBO.
