Although professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy has been with Dancing with the Stars since season 2, the “bad boy of the dance floor” has officially given his two weeks notice.
As we previously reported, there were rumors that Maks would leave the show after his contract ended, but it looks like he will be leaving a bit early. He told The New York Post, “What else do I have to do there after 15 seasons?”
According to TMZ, the dancer hopes to follow in fellow DWTS alum Julianne Hough’s shoes and plans to pursue an acting career.
The 33-year-old has had memorable parings on the show with partners like Erin Andrews, Kirstie Alley, Mel B, and Laila Ali. He is most well known for his sexy choreography, loud mouth, and crazy antics during rehearsal, all of which have gotten him into trouble in the past.
Maks’s brother, Valentin, will continue on the show despite Maks’s departure. Val danced in the season 10 and 11 results shows and became a regular on the show beginning in season 13.
