Michael Keaton has joined Need For Speed, a racing action movie currently in development at DreamWorks.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will co-star Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul and Captain America: The First Avenger’s Dominic Cooper. Scott Waugh (Act of Valor) is directing. George Gatins wrote the script, which is based off of Electronic Arts’ video game.
FirstShowing notes that Paul will star as a local street racer who is friends with a rich businessman (Cooper). The businessman frames him for a crime and he is sent to prison. When he gets out, he joins a cross-country race and plots his revenge. During the race, Paul will be tracked by bounty hunters hired by Cooper.
Other actors in the cast include Imogen Poots, Kid Cudi,Ramon Rodriguez, Rami Malik and Harrison Gilbertson.
Back in August, Keaton was cast to play the villain role in MGM’s RoboCop remake, which stars Joel Kinnaman in the title role. The former Batman actor will also star in Larry David’s Clear History and is hoping to direct Buttercup.
