Mindy McCready enters treatment, children placed in foster care

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Mindy McCready has been struggling to stay positive since the untimely death of her boyfriend, David Wilson. Her rep has now confirmed that she has entered an in-patient treatment facility for an undisclosed amount of time.

“As you can imagine, the tragedy of David Wilson's death has been devastating and crippling to Mindy and her entire family," her rep tells E! News. "We can confirm Mindy was admitted to an in-patient facility yesterday evening."

In addition to her admittance, Mindy’s children, 6-year-old Zander and 9-month-old Zayne, have been placed in foster care.

Her rep notes, “While taking appropriate, much-needed and deserved time to grieve, her sons have been placed in foster homes where they are comfortable and cared for.We have no further statement at this time."

Wilson was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Jan. 13. Following his death, Mindy released a statement saying she was mourning the loss of her “life partner.”

Shortly after his death, the country singer was at the center of speculation that she had a hand in his death - speculation she quickly dismissed.

The investigation into Wilson’s death is still ongoing.
