Mindy McCready released to outpatient treatment

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Mindy McCready has been moved to an outpatient facility for her treatment after less than a day of entering.

McCready entered treatment Thursday following difficulty dealing with the death of her boyfriend, David Wilson, who took his own life last month.

Following her ordered treatment, her two young sons were taken into foster care.

E! News reports that McCready was transferred to an outpatient treatment where she can go as she wishes.

“The doctors let her leave [the treatment facility] Thursday. They are going to let her do outpatient," a source tells E!

“Being involuntarily committed and having her children taken away from her was eye-opening. It helped her realize she needs to focus on putting her family back together and moving forward from this tragedy," the source informs. "She is in a better state of mind."

According to E!, McCready did not show any signs of what a typical alcoholic does and a doctor found no reason to keep her as she does not have a problem.
