Country singer Mindy McCready's family finally said goodbye in a funeral held in her hometown of Fort Myers, Florida on Tuesday.
Previously being declared a suicide, 37-year old McCready's death came as quite a shock to her family and fans alike.
400 guests turned up to the funeral, where a portrait of the singer as well as slideshows showing photos from her life appeared on stage. Her songs were played for the mourning crowd, including "I'm Still Here" and "Ten Thousand Angels," reports People.
Gayle Inge, McCready's mother, gave a sad, heartfelt speech during the service.
"Mindy adored her two children. She wanted them to know that. Through much agony and pain, she went to heaven. She is no longer sick. She is healed. Thank you for all who are here. Please pray for those boys. No matter what, she will always be my little girl, sitting in her car seat, singing into a hairbrush. The world was her stage," he said, reports People.
Inge also said in a statement to People, "Our family is devastated by the loss of our beautiful and talented daughter. Her life, no matter how brief, touched many, and she will forever be our special angel."
