Mindy McCready's mother speaks out, 'I wish I could hold her in my arms again'

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Following the untimely death of country singer Mindy McCready, her mother Gayle Inge has finally opened up about the apparent suicide stating that she wishes she could “hold her again.”

“I wish I could hold her in my arms again. I will never get over this,” Gayle tells Celebuzz in her first interview since her daughter’s death.

“We break down and tell stories about her and laugh and talk about her and then break down again. We don’t know how to handle this or know what to do. We take it one day at a time,” she adds.

More details continue to surface following Sunday’s devastating news. Following the tragic loss of longtime partner David Wilson, McCready was in an emotional downward spiral, unable to cope from her loss. Due to her inability to take care of herself or her children, her young sons Zander and Zayne were sent to live with foster care parents until McCready was able to take care of her children again.

According to People, days before she took her own life, McCready sent to a message to private investigator Danno Hanks in which she was adamant that the one thing that needed to happen was to get her children back.

“The most important thing are my babies must come home," she wrote. Hanks tells People, “She lost all hope.”

A memorial service for the Celebrity Rehab star is set for Feb. 26, provided all preparations for the service are completed.
