NBC has officially found their new leading lady for the television adaptation of Nick Hornsby’s novel About A Boy.

The novel, as you may remember from the 2002 movie adaptation featuring Hugh Grant, Toni Collette, and a young Nicholas Hoult, follows the story of a lonely bachelor who befriends a young schoolboy Marcus.

Driver will be playing Marcus’ eccentric vegan mom Fiona, the part previously played by Toni Collette. Parenthood’s Jason Katims, the writer of the series’ pilot, apparently wrote the part with Driver in mind, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The series already has other big name stars signed on, with New Girl’s David Walton to play the bachelor, Jon Favreau to direct the pilot, and Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Jane Rosenthal, and Robert De Niro to produce.

Deadline noted that this is the second NBC show for Driver, as she previously starred in Lady Friends last year.

Driver has been nominated for an Oscar for her role in Good Will Hunting and has also appeared in Hope Springs and voiced Jane in Tarzan.
