Miss Delaware Teen USA Melissa King resigned from her position after a pornographic video, allegedly featuring her, surfaced online. She denied the claim.
Delaware’s News Journal reports that a pornographic website posted the video yesterday. In it a woman who looked and sounded like King is seen, so the site claimed it was her. Just after the video surfaced, a Miss USA spokesperson confirmed that King resigned.
NJ.com reports that the woman in the video can be heard talking about beauty pageants.
“I would like to confirm to you that the Miss Delaware Teen USA pageant has received a resignation letter from Miss King’s attorney,” spokeswoman Dara Busch told the News Journal Tuesday morning.
The paper also contacted King, who denied it was her on Monday. “Absolutely not...It is not,” she said. “There are comments saying this, however, it’s not comments that are true.”
King earned the Miss Delaware Teen USA title last year. Miss Teen USA and Miss USA winners compete in the Miss Universe pageant.
According to TMZ, the video was made in June 2012. In the video, the girl claims that she turned 18 in March, the same month that King was born. The girl also talks about sex positions before the act.
The site reports that Miss USA asked runner-up Hailey Lawler to replace King.
