Country singer Mindy McCready was laid to rest in Florida following her tragic suicide.

More than 400 people showed up to mourn the loss of McCready, who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Feb. 17, People reports.

The funeral was held in Ft.Myers, Florida, her home town. McCready’s body laid in wooden casket and was brought to its resting place by a white hearse.

People notes that “I’m Still Here” and Ten Thousand Angels” played during the services, which was adorned with white roses and portraits of the young singer.

Her mother, Gayle Inge, spoke to the mourners saying, Mindy adored her two children. She wanted them to know that. Through much agony and pain, she went to heaven. She is no longer sick. She is healed. Thank you for all who are here. Please pray for those boys. No matter what, she will always be my little girl, sitting in her car seat, singing into a hairbrush. The world was her stage."

Additionally, her mother released a statement to the magazine saying, “Our family is devastated by the loss of our beautiful and talented daughter. Her life, no matter how brief, touched many, and she will forever be our special angel."

A special memorial for her professional colleagues is slated for early March.
