This time MTV may have gone a little too far, or at least that’s what cast members of Teen Mom 2 are claiming.
The show, which is about to enter its fourth season, recently released the trailer for its new season set to begin February 18. In the video, the young mothers are all seen to be crying or fighting or high on Morphine. But what’s out of the ordinary?
Kailyn Lowry, the normally level-headed starlet of the group, is seen hitting husband Javi Morroquin and saying she hit her son’s father, Jo Rivera. Although many have speculated whether Lowry will be charged with domestic abuse, a friend of hers, Liz Lopez, has called MTV out on false advertising.
She told The Clicker, “She pushed him out of frustration and was immediately sorry for her actions.”
Lopez explains, “That day there were 14 people in Kail’s tiny house, including an eight-person camera crew. It was so hectic and Kail was very frustrated and she just lost it for a minute. Javi forgave her that day, even though MTV tries to make it look like he leaves the house after the incident. In fact, he went outside to go help his parents fix Kail’s car.”
And yet, Lowry has felt it necessary to apologize for the incident. “I just want to publicly apologize in advance to my fans…and even though Javi and I have moved on from it, I want to say I’m sorry again to him and his family for letting my emotions get the best of me. I know how humiliating that is for them and I’m humiliated myself,” she told Starcasm.
She claims the incident was due to her bipolar disorder, for which she is apparently receiving counseling and medication, according to Lopez.
