Mystery behind Kristen Stewart’s crutches at the Oscars explained

Kristen Stewart worried fans when she showed up on crutches at the Red Carpet before the Oscars last night. Stewart didn’t give the media any detailed reasons herself, letting her makeup artist do the talking.

Makeup artist Beau Nelson explained to People that the actress had stepped on a piece of glass, which gave her a really nasty cut.

Stewart “cut the ball of her foot, quite severely, on glass two days ago,” Nelson said. He added that the actress is still in “a little bit of pain” and that they rushed to find flats that would go with her white Reem Acra gown.

Before Nelson’s explanation, all fans had to go on was Stewart’s “I’m an idiot” comment she gave MTV News, reports Zap2It.

Stewart managed to pose for photographers without crutches and didn’t need any on the Oscars stage when she presented Best Production Design with Daniel Radcliffe.

The Twilight actress was a real trooper on the Red Carpet, considering the night before, she won Worst Actress at the Razzies for her performance in the final Twilight film. She also appeared in On The Road and Snow White and the Huntsman this year.
