Nick Carter finally proposed to his girlfriend of four years, Lauren Kitt!

For the special moment, Carter invited Kitt for a short vacation to Florida Keys, and planned a romantic boat ride to the island.

The Backstreet Boys singer told People that he had been holding the ring for almost two weeks.

"I was like, 'I don't want it anymore!' It was driving me insane. I just wanted to get it out of my hands and on to hers."

Carter popped the question to his girlfriend on the island, and now the pair refer to it as the Engagement Island.

At the moment of proposal, Carter admitted to being shocked after Kitt answered positively to the proposal.

"She said, 'Yes,' and I'm, like, 'I don't know what to do,"

"She said, 'You're supposed to put it on my finger.' So I did. I was in shock."

He previously hinted in his Instagram post, saying, "Big question...great answer," attaching a photograph of the pair in the island.

Lauren Kitt, on the other hand, was shocked as well.

She said that she was not expecting the proposal to come.

"It just felt very surreal,"

"We both are just so happy in love right now and on cloud nine."
