NBC has cast Ellie Kemper in a new comedy pilot titled Brenda Forever.
Kemper, who plays Dunder Mifflin secretary Erin on The Office, will star in the series about Brenda Miller, who recounts how she went from an awkward 13-year-old to a 31-year-old woman that still does what her heart tells her to, notes Entertainment Weekly.
According to Deadline, the pilot was written by Andrew Leeds and David Lampson. Sony Pictures TV is producing the series. Role Models’ David Wain is directing. Peter Tolan (Rescue Me) and Michael Wimer will executive produce with Leeds.
Kemper is close friends with Leeds and Lampson. In addition to The Office, she appeared in the hit Bridesmaids and 21 Jump Street. She also made a guest appearance on Fox’s The Mindy Project and will be lending her voice to DreamWorks’ Mr. Peabody & Sherman.
She isn’t the only Office star who has a chance to be back with the network after the show ends this season. Craig Robinson is working on a pilot with Office writer Greg Daniels, who is working on another pilot about dating as well.
