The Academy and Oscars producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron have added even more presenters for the ceremony. This time, they’ve tapped Oscar frontrunners Ben Affleck, Jessica Chastain and Jennifer Lawrence to hand out awards.
Affleck is a previous Oscar winner, having won for co-writing 1997’s Good Will Hunting with friend Matt Damon. This year, his Argo is in the running for Best Picture. Although Affleck was not nominated for Best Director, the film has built up plenty of momentum after winning at the BAFTAs, the Golden Globes, the SAG Awards and the Producers Guild Awards.
Chastain and Lawrence have both been nominated for Oscars in the past and are competing against each other in the Best Actress category. Chastain has been nominated for Zero Dark Thirty, while Lawrence was nominated for Silver Linings Playbook.
On Wednesday, Zadan and Meron announced that Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock, Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman will present awards. All four are previous Best Actress winners.
Other presenters include the casts of The Avengers and Chicago, Jean Dujardin, Meryl Streep, Octavia Spencer, Christopher Plummer, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Daniel Radcliffe, Channing Tatum. Charlize Theron and Mark Wahlberg.
Adele, Shirley Bassey and Barbra Streisand will perform.
Seth MacFarlane is hosting the Oscars, which will take place on Feb. 24 in Hollywood on ABC.
