While most people watching the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday night were impressed by Beyonce’s dancing and singing, animal rights group PETA was not happy with what she was wearing.
The outfit was a Rubin Singer leather bodysuit, notes Zap2It. It was made with python, paneled iguana and leather, which really set the organization off.
“We would take a bet that if Beyonce watched our video exposes, she'd probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards, rabbits or other animals who died painfully,” PETA said in a statement Tuesday. “Today's fashions are trending toward humane vegan options, and Beyonce's Super Bowl outfit missed the mark on that score.”
According to The New York Daily News, the group was also disappointed by the Christian Dior mink coat she wore to President Obama’s inauguration last month.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Free Press is reporting today that Beyonce’s show almost included an appearance of the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. GM didn’t have a Super Bowl ad and was hoping that Beyonce would strike a deal with the company, but it “did not work out.”
While the show was sponsored by Pepsi, GM said, “We worked with all the parties involved on a variety of possibilities, including one scenario that would have included the new Corvette Stingray as part of the show. In the end, it did not work out.”
