Peter Dinklage joins cast of 'X Men: Days of Futres past'

Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage has officially signed on to star in X Men: Days of Futures Past.

According to New York Daily News, the news was confirmed by director Bryan Singer Wednesday on Twitter.

“Officially like to welcome #PeterDinklage from #GameOfThrones to #XMEN #DaysofFuturePast Very very excited!” he wrote.

It is not official which role the Game of Thrones actor will take on, but speculation is that he will fill the role of Puck, a character who was introduced in 1987.

The Daily News notes that the plot will be loosely based on present and future versions of the X-Men comic book characters.

The film will rejoin characters Raven, Beast, Professor X and Magento played by Jennifer Lawrence, her ex-beau Nicholas Hoult, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender respectively. The four actors took on roles in X Men: First Class which hit theaters in 2011. Hugh Jackman will also return as Wolverine.

Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore will also take on roles in the film. It is slated for a July 18, 2014 release.
