A Republican group created an ad to poke fun at Ashley Judd

A GOP group called American Crossroads recently created an advertisement mocking actress Ashley Judd’s comments about President Barack Obama during the 2012 election campaign.

Judd, who was a Tennessee delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 2012, is looking into a Senate bid in 2014 in her home state of Kentucky. She would be running against Republican Mitch McConnell.

The ad states that Judd is “An Obama-following radical, Hollywood liberal who is right at home here in Tennessee. I mean, Kentucky.”

According to USA Today, American Crossroads and its co-founder Karl Rove spent millions during the 2012 election. The group spent $10,000 on the advertisement.

The ad, entitled “Vote for me you hillbillies,” will run online for two weeks. The spot features Judd praising Obama in clips from the last campaign season.

A recent poll by The Washington Post indicates that only 17 percent of voters plan to cast their ballot for McConnell in 2014. According to the Post, Kentucky democrats are divided on the issue of Judd as their new Senator.
