Former child actor Ricky Schroder was accused of assaulting an LAX airport worker, because she does not want to let him go with three cabin bags.
The authorities told TMZ that they were called to the scene early Monday morning for an alleged assault.
According to the airport worker's side of the story, she was checking on his boarding pass when she realized Schroder had three cabin bags, when the limit was two. After reminding him about the limit, she said the Silver Spoon star slapped her hand when she was reaching for her boarding pass.
Schroder's attorney, Marty Singer, said that the airport worker's story was fabricated.
The actor told him the airport worker was rude and confrontational as she was telling Schroder about the cabin bag limit. He then said the woman slapped his hand hard and his phone went flying. When he lunged to reach for his phone, the woman yelled, "Assault!"
The authorities arrived to interview both sides, but nobody was arrested nor charged.
Singer then said there were witnesses on the scene, and if Schroder did what she said, he would have been arrested for assault.
According to his website, Schroder is a former child star whose on-screen debut is an acclaimed role in The Champ, for which he earned a Golden Globe.
Despite the award, he is best known as Ricky Stratton in TV series Silver Spoons. His latest film credits include the TV movies Rogue, To the Mat, Goodnight for Justice: Queen of Hearts, and the soon-to-be released Wild Hearts.
