Rihanna and MAC join forces as 'creative partners,' will put out 4 different lines

Just a few days after Rihanna debuted her first clothing line for River Island, it’s been announced she’s partnering up with MAC Cosmetics.

Rihanna, who turns 25 today, has already collaborated with the makeup company on multiple projects.

The “Diamonds” singer told Women’s Wear Daily of her partnership with MAC that it was a “a no-brainer.”

The first product to come out this year will be a lipstick inspired by the already existing color Ruby Woo, which Rihanna loves. Her version will be called RiRi Woo and its release will coincide with her Diamonds Tour performances on May 4 and 5.

On the first night of her Barclays Center performances, MAC will have a pop-up show to showcase her work with the brand.

“Whatever color you want, it’s like ‘Let’s go to MAC,’” Rihanna said of the popular cosmetics brand, calling it “legit.”

“I’ve been using MAC on tour for such a long time it was a natural fit for me. I have always loved makeup, and I always said that if I do it, I want to do it with a credible brand.”

“We always say that MAC likes to go on a date but doesn’t really want to go into a relationship,” John Demsey, group president of the Estée Lauder Cos. Inc., MAC’s parent company said of working with other celebs before. “This relationship with Rihanna is a long-term one that involves the development of four distinct color initiatives.”

They will refer to her as a “creative partner” and the four collections are called RiRi [Hearts] MAC.
