Rihanna is a woman of many talents, and is now expanding her horizons with a huge makeup deal with MAC Cosmetics.
According to the 25-year old singer, the only downside of her success is all of the media attention. “The only thing the media really can get in the way of is my privacy,” she told Women's Wear Daily after the River Island runway show in London last weekend.
She continued, “Privately, yeah, it’s a pain in the ass, but at the same time they help me to get my message across. My creativity — I’ll never let anyone interfere with that — because that’s something I love. And if I’m not doing that, I’m wasting my time.”
Together, MAC and Rihanna will release multiple collections of cosmetics that will come out later this year, titled RiRi Hearts Mac. First up is a lipstick called RiRi Woo, which is her own take on their signature red lipstick. It will come out around the same time as her Diamonds Tour concerts on May 4 and 5 in Brooklyn, and MAC will be there with a popup shop, reports WWD.
About the MAC brand, Rihanna said, “When you think of makeup, the brand that pops into your mind — for something legit — is MAC. Whatever color you want, it’s like ‘Let’s go to MAC.’ I’ve been using MAC on tour for such a long time it was a natural fit for me. I have always loved makeup, and I always said that if I do it, I want to do it with a credible brand.”
The singer also took to her Instagram to address the deal, saying, "That's right baby, I'm a #MACgal now! Get into it, package designed and products created from scratch by yours truly! Thanks to the EPIC team at #MAC for giving me the opportunity to play and share my favorite sh** with my fans and yours."
