Rihanna isn’t the only one who has forgiven Chris Brown.
The 24-year-old singer’s father, Ronald Fenty, said that he is giving Brown a second chance after assaulting his daughter in 2009.
Brown was convicted of assault after attacking Rihanna before the 2009 Grammys. The singer is still on probation from the incident.
“Chris made a mistake ... a terrible one,” Fenty said to The Mirror. “But I’m a great believer that everybody deserves a second chance and Chris is no different.”
Fenty added that his daughter’s happiness is important to him, and everyone makes mistakes.
“Everybody goes wrong in life at some point,” Fenty said. “I certainly have. But it is about how you come back and live your life, which is important. As long as she is happy then so am I. Everybody has had their say about her and Chris but it is up to her to find her own way."
Late last month, Rihanna spoke about her recent reunion with Brown.
"He made a mistake, and he's paid his dues," Rihanna said to Rolling Stone. "He's paid so much. And I know that's not a place he would ever want to go back to. And sometimes people need support and encouragement, instead of ridicule and criticism and bashing."
