Sandy Hook Shooter inspired by Norwegian mass murderer

By Bonnie Ping,

Over two months after the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary that left 26 dead, the police are still trying to decide why it happened.

The police have already released that Adam Lanza, 20, the Sandy Hook shooter, was a fan of violent video games. CBS News was told by police that Lanza spent hours in his basement practicing his computer killing skills.

His mother, Nancy Lanza, frequently took her son to the gun range and they practiced with her three registered guns. She was Adam’s first victim.

Chron reports that new evidence has been brought to light through unidentified sources that claim that Lanza was inspired by the Norwegian mass murderer, Anders Breivik.

Breivik bombed a government building in July 2011, and then gunned down 69 people at a youth camp, bringing his death toll to 77. Lanza was trying to surpass that number when he walked into the halls of Sandy Hook.

Lanza’s spree supposedly ended prematurely because the police arrived and Lanza chose to end his own life instead of being taken into custody.
