Sarah Michelle Gellar is set to star opposite Robin Williams in a new CBS pilot titled Crazy Ones.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gellar will play Sydney Roberts, the daughter of Robin Roberts, played by Williams.
The single camera sitcom will be written by David E. Kelly and executive produced by Dean Lorey, Bill D’Elia, John Montgomery and Mark Teitelbaum, alongside Kelly. Jason Winer is set to direct.
THR notes that this will be Gellar’s second series hopeful after her CW thriller Ringer was axed after just one year. She also shot a pilot for HBO in 2009, which was never picked up.
Additional actors are slated to join the roster, including James Wolk and Zach Cooper.
Gellar, who married fellow actor Freddie Prince Jr. in 2002, has a starring role as a mom to three-year-old Charlotte and 5-month-old Rocky, who was born in September.
Gellar became notorious for her roles as Buffy in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I Know What You Did Last Summer.
