Seth MacFarlane says he will not host Oscars again

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Oscars host Seth MacFarlane received mixed reviews from critics and audience members from Sunday evening's awards show, from his “Boob Song” trending on Twitter to his just below-the-belt comments about Jews in Hollywood, the Family Guy creator has informed that hosting the 2013 Oscars will be his one and only time.

Reuters reports that MacFarlane was asked on Twitter if he would consider hosting the prestigious event ever again. He had a clear answer, “No way.”

“No way. Lotta fun to have done it, though,” he responded.

Reuters notes that MacFarlane’s attempts to poke fun at himself were received well, however, as the awards ceremony saw an 11 percent increase in 18-49 demographic. However, the blame cannot be place solely on the animated genius. Mixed criticism was also thrown at the heavily based dance numbers which were produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.

According to Access Hollywood, MacFarlane’s decision to not host the awards ceremony again should not come as a surprise as he previously explained before the ceremony that this is probably a “one-off,” noting, “This will probably be the only time I’m asked to do this.”

However well, or not well, the program was received by viewers and critics, MacFarlane took to Twitter to post the opinion of the one special person to him: his cat.

“My cat said the show went well,” he wrote adding a shot of his furry pet.
