Shia LaBeouf left 'Orphans' due to incompatibility with Alec Baldwin

Shia LaBeouf revealed he dropped out of his Broadway debut Orphans, due to disagreements with co-star Alec Baldwin that made them unable to get along.

Producers said LaBeouf left the production just one week into rehearsal. The play’s previews are scheduled to begin March 19, according to The New York Post.

LaBeouf tweeted emails exchanged between himself and director Daniel Sullivan. LaBeouf titled the email to Sullivan “creative differences.” Sullivan was understanding in his reply.

“I’m too old for disagreeable situations. You’re one hell of a great actor. Alec is who he is. You are who you are. You two are incompatible. I should have known it. This one will haunt me. You tried to warn me. You said you were a different breed. I didn’t get it.”

LaBeouf also exchanged emails with Alec Baldwin, which he shared on twitter. as well.

“I don’t have an unkind word to say to you,” Baldwin wrote. “You have my word.”

UPDATE: The New York Times has confirmed that Ben Foster has replaced LaBeouf, who has approved the choice.
