A week before Oscar Sunday, Best Picture nominee Silver Linings Playbook is making its mark on movie history.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Silver Linings Playbook has earned a whopping $100 million in North America.

This film has become director’s, David O. Russel’s highest grossing film; before Playbook, Russel’s top film was The Fighter in 2010 which earned an impressive $93.6 million.

Silver Linings Playbook is the sixth Best Picture nominee to cross this money milestone. It is one of the first years in recent history to have so many hit that mark.

The film starring Oscar nominees Jennifer Lawerence, Bradley Cooper, and Robert DeNiro, is the first film since 1981’s Reds to earn nominations in all four acting Oscar categories. It has also been nominated in the Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay categories, according to Showbiz411.com.

Whether or not Silver Linings Playbook wins the Oscar on Sunday, it’s box office numbers have proved that this is an incredible film and will go down in history as a classic.
