'The X-Factor' judge and his company are launching a new search for talent utilizing the web

Simon Cowell, current judge for The X Factor, is starting a new talent competition utilizing the video website YouTube. The new project, titled The You Generation, will be an online talent search that will be available in 26 different countries.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Cowell's company, Syco Entertainment, is looking for a wide range of talents from cooking to makeup artists. The program will begin sometime next month and is anticipated to run through the year.

According to Billboard, every two weeks the competition will announce a category in which applicants can submit their video for judging and viewing.

Additionally, it was stated that each category's winner will receive some sort of prize, and that at the end of the year a grand prize will be awarded.

While the show may sound like a foreign concept to some, plenty of stars today have actually gotten their start through YouTube. Justin Bieber was discovered by now-manager Scooter Braun, who passed his talents on to music-mogul Usher, while internet turned television stars 'Sophia Grace & Rosie' gained fame after Ellen DeGeneres noticed their popular and adorable videos.
