American singer Anastacia has been forced to cancel a planned European tour because she has been diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time. She had successfully fought the disease in 2003.
In a statement on her Facebook page, a rep for the singer said that she will not be able to travel or perform “until further notice.” The tour was supposed to start in London on April 6 to promote It’s A Man’s World. Full refunds will be available for fans.
“I feel so awful to be letting down all my amazing fans who were looking forward to 'It's A Man's World Tour.’ It just breaks my heart to disappoint them,” Anastacia said in the statement.
According to The BBC, the 44-year-old is best known for the single “I’m Outta Love.” She last performed in Germany in December. She also judged the UK version of The X Factor with Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa.
Despite the diagnosis, the statement noted that she is hopeful that she will get to tour again.
“Now more then ever, she is determined to live by her motto ‘Don't ever let cancer get the 'Best of You!'’ A born survivor, Anastacia has one goal and that is to make a full recovery with the support of her family, friends and everyone around her,” the statement read.
“I'm a fighter by nature and nothing will ever change that,” she said back in 2003 at the time of her first battle with breast cancer.
The AP reports that she was also forced to cancel a date in Dubai.
