Spotify, the music streaming website, analyzed the songs and albums with the most streams as a way to predict the winners of Sunday night’s 55th Grammy Awards.
The website analyzed streams in every category to see who will take home a coveted gramophone in Los Angeles this year.
According to The New York Times, the most popular music does not necessarily mean a certain song or album will win its category, therefore, the projections are more of a user poll.
The company predicts that the folk band Mumford and Sons will win album of the year. Others in that category include Jack White, Frank Ocean and The Black Keys. Winner for best new artist is predicted to be The Lumineers.
According to Spotify, best pop duo/group performance and record of the year will go to Gotye for “Somebody that I Used to Know.” Spotify also believes that “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen will win best pop solo.
The 55th Grammy Awards airs on Sunday night on CBS.
