Starstruck American Airline employee allows Kim Kardashian and Kanye West to bypass security checkpoint at JFK airport

Kim Kardashian and boyfriend Kanye West breached airport security on Tuesday when they bypassed a security checkpoint at JFK airport.

They landed in New York from Brazil on their way back to Los Angeles and with the help of an American Airlines staffer, they passed a mandatory security checkpoint.

The airline said in a statement, “This was a lapse in judgment by one of our employees. We're working closely with the Transportation Security Administration and speaking to the individuals involved to better understand what happened,” E! News reports.

They added “The flight in question departed JFK an hour late. It was delayed in part because of this issue and in part because a number of connecting bags were late arriving to the aircraft."

Fox NY reports the Transportation Security Administration said that the employee "violated security protocols by permitting the travelers to by-pass the TSA security checkpoint," and once officers found out, the couple were led to the jetway in order for security to perform a screening.
