Steve Martin welcomes first child at 67

By Daniela Duron,

Better late than never for Steve Martin, who at 67 years old has welcomed his first child with wife Anne Stringfield.

The New York Post is reporting that Stringfield, 41, gave birth to the couple’s son in December. The couple has since been spotted with their newborn around their home in Los Angeles.

“They’ve had a baby, and how they kept it a secret nobody knows,” a source said. “Steve’s very private. They are thrilled. They worked hard to have the baby.”

The actor, who has starred in hits such as Cheaper by the Dozen and It's Complicated, married his wife in 2007 at his home in a ceremony that took the guests by surprise. The guests, which included Tom Hanks and Diane Keaton, were told that they were invited to a party.

According to Us Magazine, Stringfield is a writer and a former editor for the New Yorker. Former Nebraska senator Bob Kerrey officiated their wedding and Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels was the best man.
