Comedian Steve Martin and his wife, Anne Stringfield, have reportedly welcomed their first child. This is the first child for Martin, who is 67-years-old.
A source told The New York Post’s Page Six that the couple’s child was born in December and they were recently seen in Los Angeles with the baby.
“They’ve had a baby, and how they kept it a secret nobody knows,” the source said. “Steve’s very private.”
The source added, “They are thrilled. They worked hard to have the baby.”
Martin and Stringfield, 41, married in 2007 during a surprise ceremony. Actors Tom Hanks and Diane Keaton were in attendance. Access Hollywood notes that it is the second marriage for the Saturday Night Live alum. He was previously married to Victoria Tennant for eight years. They divorced in 1994.
According to New York Daily News, Martin’s rep confirmed the news saying, "Steve Martin and his wife are new parents and recently welcomed a child."
Martin has been busy lately. He recently announced that he is going on tour with his band, the Steep Canyon Rangers, and Edie Brickell. The tour kicks off on May 22 in Florida. Martin and Brickell are also releasing a new CD on April 23. His last film was 2011’s The Big Year.
