Taylor Swift's ex, Conor Kennedy, arrested for civil disobedience

By Gavriella Tjandra,

Along with a group of 47 other environmentalists, Taylor Swift's former boyfriend, Conor Kennedy, was arrested for civil disobedience Wednesday.

He was seen protesting along with his father, Robert Kennedy Jr., and Daryl Hannah outside the White House, to oppose the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, E! News reported.

There were 40 environmentalists who got themselves arrested, and charged with failure to disperse and obey lawful orders, New York Times Green Blog reported. They will be released on $100 bail a piece.

Conor's father, longtime environmentalist Robert Kennedy Jr., tweeted, "Handcuffed to White House gate in act of civil disobedience for climate change!"

He attached a photograph of him, his son, and other environmentalists being cuffed to the White House's gate.

Kennedy then continued, "Everyone is out of jail after protest! #forwardonclimate," attaching another photograph of the group.

The protest was organized by The Sierra Club, the first organization whose board allowed the practice of civil disobedience in the group's 120-year history.
