President Barack Obama and Tiger Woods spent Sunday together on the links in Florida as the two enjoyed their first round of golf together.
News of this broke Sunday after previous reports of the President taking his own personal “guys” vacation away from the family. The game took place at the Floridian Yacht and Golf Club. The resort was heavily sealed by a security detail, but some members of the press were allowed on the site.
According to Reuters, story of the high-profile group was broken by golf journalist Tim Rosaforte, who eavesdropped on some of the conversations. The two played in a foursome alongside a U.S. trade rep and the owner of the Houston Astros, who owns the golf course.
Rosaforte said that he heard the President tell Woods how excited to see he was playing well again. Woods is coming off his first tournament win a few weeks ago after a long slump without wins.
The president has met Woods before at the White House, according to CNN reports, but this is the first time the two have gotten together for a round of golf.
