Yesterday, we reported that Tina Fey adamantly refused to ever consider hosting the Academy Awards because of the lengthy preparation required- including deciding which dress to wear.
While a hosting gig may not be in her near future, there is a good probability a new movie contract will be!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fey will more than likely be joining the cast of This is Where I Leave You, a movie surrounding a Jewish family and based on the novel by Jonathon Tropper. In the script, also written by Tropper, siblings are forced to live together, sitting Shiva for a week to resolve their problems at the request of their deceased father.
The 30 Rock star is in negotiations to play Jason Bateman’s older sister.
Casting for the female lead has been narrowed down to Ari Graynor, Isla Fisher, Zoe Saldana, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Kathryn Hahn is looking to portray Bateman’s sister-in-law as well.
Shawn Levy will be directing and producing the flick alongside Paula Weinstein.
The project is slated to begin filming in New York in June, after Fey’s completed Disney’s The Muppets…Again!, currently in production in Europe.
