After Tina Fey and Amy Poehler won rave reviews for hosting the Golden Globes, some people wondered why can’t they host everything? Even William Shatner and Seth MacFarlane joked about it during the opening of the Oscars on Sunday. However, the 30 Rock creator said that our dreams aren’t likely to come true.
In an interview with The Huffington Post this week, Fey was asked about hosting the 2014 Oscars or if it was even possible, since the Oscars are on ABC.
“No, you can,” she said. “But I just feel like that gig is so hard. Especially for, like, a woman -- the amount of months that would be spent trying on dresses alone ... no way.”
Fey added that she and her friend Poehler had fun doing the Globes, but there is zero chance she’ll host Hollywood’s biggest night. When the Huffington Post asked if there was even “a one in a million chance,” she replied, “I wish I could tell you there was.”
So, we now know of two people who won’t host the 2014 Oscars. Just hours after the show, MacFarlane tweeted that there is “no way” he would do it again. “Lotta fun to have done it, though,” he wrote.
The Oscars is basically the Kobayashi Maru test.
