With the Grammy Awards just two days away, anticipation for this year’s performances is rising. The annual award show has had some very memorable performances in the past. Here’s a look back at ten performances we enjoyed.
10. At the 1989 Grammy Awards, Whitney Houston performed "One Moment In Time." The song, originally recorded for the 1988 Olympics, captivated the Grammy’s audience. Houston came on stage in a classy white dress while Olympic videos played behind her. With her powerful performance, her song proved to be inspirational.
9. In 2002, five sassy ladies hit the stage to perform a collaboration of "Lady Marmalade" from the soundtrack to the movie, Moulin Rouge!. Christina Aguilera, Pink, Lil Kim, Mya, and Patti Labelle came out on stage in sexy costumes. Combined, their powerful voices and their amazing outfits created a performance that the audience couldn’t keep their eyes off of.
8. Also at the 2002 Grammys, Mary J. Blige showed the world that she was back and better than ever. After recovering from addictions, Blige came on stage and performed "No More Drama."
7. Elton John and Eminem; a strange combination, yet together, they had the best performance of the 2001 Grammy Awards. They performed Eminem’s single, "Stan."
