The Originals has added another name to their cast list

The Vampire Diaries spinoff revolving around the original vampires is gaining more momentum.

The hit CW teen drama has decided to take their popularity elsewhere and expand the series into a spinoff that focuses solely on the vampires that started it all, the Originals.

There has been new casting news in the spinoff; Danielle Campbell will play a witch in the pilot episode, reported by The Hollywood Reporter, that will premiere on April 25 in place of a regular Vampire Diaries episode.

Campbell is best known for her role in Prison Break but will now tackle the role of a witch named Sophie.

The pilot, properly titled, “The Originals” will focus on the character Klaus, the horrid original vampire that has been reeking havoc on Mystic Falls for the past two seasons.

It will show Klaus in New Orleans as he meets up with his vampiric protege Davis, who will be played by Charles Michael Davis, according to Rabiddoll.com.

Kalus’ brother Elijah, played by Daniel Gillies will join the cast for the pilot episode as will Phoebe Tonkin aka werewolf Hayley.

Both Gillies and Tonkin have appeared in The Vampire Diaries this past season.

Executive producer of VD, Julie Plec, is set to write the April 25 pilot episode.
