After some challenges in her personal life, country singer Mindy McCready sadly committed suicide this week. Her funeral and memorial services have been scheduled. May she rest in peace.
Another loss this week was singer of The Staples Cleotha Staples . She passed away at age 78 after her battle with Alzheimer’s. Staples will be remembered for songs like “I’ll Take you There” and “Respect Yourself.”
In legal battles:
Pitbull won the case against Lindsay Lohan. He had been sued for using her name in song “Give Me Everything.”
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift is being sued for $2.5 million for a canceled concert in Canada.
Rapper Ja Rule was released from prison and placed in federal custody. He was serving time for gun charges.

Steven Tyler and Joe Perry will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in June.
The rumors are official, Justin Timberlake will be touring with Jay-Z in their Legends of Summer Tour. The 12-city tour will begin in July.
Timberlake will also be hosting Saturday Night Live in March.
The amazing Cirque du Soleil has taken on legends like Elvis and the Beatles in Vegas and will now add Michael Jackson to that list. This summer, Michael Jackson One will begin at The Mandalay Bay resort . Cirque Du Soleil has been touring Michael Jackson’s Immortal World Tour, however this show will be unique to the tour.

Lady Gaga had hip surgery this week and thanks her fans for their great support to help her face the ordeal.
Mumford and Sons album Babel is number one on the Billboard Charts following their Grammy win.
