Will Ferrell has had a busy week in Los Angeles. On Tuesday, he posed as a security guard at a Lakers game and on Wednesday, weighed in on the mayoral race by endorsing a candidate.
At the Staples Center on Tuesday, Ferrell wore the familiar red coat of a security guard and acted the part. He stood on the court stoically, looking over the crowd to make sure no one interfered with the game or the cheerleaders.
He didn’t do much until he saw one fan he didn’t like: Shaquille O’Neal. He pointed him out and lead him off the court.
On Wednesday, Ferrell decided to endorse Eric Garcetti for LA mayor, recording a video explaining why he thinks Garcetti is the best candidate.
“You're probably thinking, 'Who cares what some strikingly handsome actor thinks,'” Ferrell says, reports The Hollywood Reporter. “But I'm not just an actor; I'm also a native Los Angeleno, a father of three and a business owner. And I want a city that is vibrant and healthy for my three sons and my four illegitimate children to grow up in. That's why I'm voting for Eric Garcetti.”
Ferrell says that while Garcetti was on the city council, he had a track record of “promoting economic growth, reducing crime and his vision for the future of L.A. are unmatched among the other candidates.”
Of course, there are plenty of jokes thrown in as well, such as Ferrell revealing that some call Garcetti “E Squared.” Ferrell also promised free pancakes for all of LA on Tuesdays if Garcetti wins. Check out the endorsement below:
