Linda Ackley, 44, went to Allegiance Health in Michigan thinking that she had a hernia. She left with a ten pound baby girl.
Ackley, who had been told she could not bear children was absolutely shocked when she underwent an emergency C-section. Born on February 8, 2013, Kimberly Kay Ackley was born at 11:20 p.m. and weighed 10 pounds, 1 ounce. Kimberly, the first child of Mike and Linda, is healthy, reports Fox News.
Apparently, surprise births aren’t a rare occurrence.
“It happens more than you would think,” said Dr. Kimberly Gecsi, who works at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, as stated in ABC News.
“Every time it does there’s always the, ‘How could they not have known? It seems crazy,” continued Dr. Gecsi.
Gesci reported that she gets two or three of these “unknown pregnancies” a year.
In particular, baby Kimberly is thought of as a fortunate blessing to her parents who were together for 24 years and high school sweethearts.
“She is out miracle baby,” said Linda.
